Wake County Public School System, NC - Ralph Everett, Systems Analyst
“Wake County Public Schools has been using Periscope for about 9 months and since the first installation, we have seen numerous uses for Periscope here at the school system. The PX viewlet has been particularly helpful to our school district and has helped us pinpoint major equipment failures, allowing us to respond to issues more timely and effectively. We also like the electric meter viewlet. We are able to compare, at a glance, how much energy each school is using. With this information, we are able to investigate reasons for excessive energy use at specific schools. After finding significant energy and resource savings opportunities, we were able to pay for our investment in Periscope in only a few months! Our relationship with Activelogix has continued to prove itself throughout the breadth of time, and we look forward to building upon it as we are ever learning about the benefits of Periscope, and everything that it can do for us.”
City of Raleigh, NC- Suzanne Walker, Energy Manager
“By using Periscope, we were able to identify and correct an issue forcing unnecessary equipment cycling. This issue affected our energy demand (kW) and utility cost. Periscope provided the Building Intelligence so that we could take action and correct the cycling during the warranty period. We calculate that this one issue alone will save our city $3500.00 and improve the equipment life.”
Rock Hill School District, SC - Mike Armour, Director of Operations
“Using the ranking viewlet in Periscope, we noticed that one elementary school's kW demand was much higher than its peer group. After additional investigation, Periscope identified that the electric heat in this building was unable to quickly recover from night set back when we had an unusually cold day. Each unit proceeded to run its electric heat all day to recover, therefore causing the demand to peak. After gaining this intelligence, we were able to adjust our night setback strategy at this particular school. This action will save significant utility costs as we head into the winter months.”
Control Technologies, VT- James LaVallee, BAS Contractor
“Our first experience with Periscope was deploying it on a local campus LEED project. The goal for Periscope was to showcase the energy conservation and sustainability measures at work. Periscope was easy to deploy - we had a dashboard of various data up and running by day’s end. Since the initial deployment, our customer has begun sharing their results amongst administrators and students, and with a public kiosk in their main lobby.”
