Activelogix Announces New Wireless Sensors from Distech

Activelogix to distribute new wireless sensing products to reduce installation costs

Charlotte, NC – September 25, 2006 – Activelogix LLC, a leading provider of Internet-based enterprise solutions, announced today that it has begun distributing new wireless sensing products from Distech-Controls. Activelogix provides integration technology and associated Distech products to Solution Partners across the Southeast USA. Activelogix's Solution Partners continue to express a high degree of interest in wireless products in order to reduce installation time on projects and these same products support Activelogix's goal of providing cost effective enterprise connecting solutions to its channel.

Through its Solution Partner Program, activelogix provides Systems Integrators with Internet-based Machine to Machine (M2M) technologies, and support. The program is designed to help partners deliver complete real-time data and event-driven solutions to their customers. Many partners use the technologies to manage and control their job costs and risk. With traditional “wired” systems, the installing contractor can get behind and fail to run wire and conduit when the structure is going up. If wire has to be installed in an open or hazardous area, the costs of wiring can be expensive. Wireless devices allow the partner to show up onsite afterwards and still meet the installation deadline without the expense. These savings can have a more profound impact on their bottom line.

“The Distech wireless technology can provide a cost effective way to connect intelligent devices and systems to the enterprise,” said Jack Berryhill, founder of activelogix. “Our Solution Partners continue to find more cost effective ways to connect machines to man (M2M) and to better deliver on the vision of broader visibility into real time facility, energy and business-critical data.” These solutions can be quickly implemented and they provide flexibility to the end user who may change tenant spaces often.

The Machine to Machine sector is a highly diverse market that includes networking manufactured product with onboard embedded smart devices to enterprise level applications. It is increasingly being regarded as a key growth sector over the coming decade. Often described as the ‘next wave of the Internet’, the data collected can be integrated into existing automation or monitoring systems and viewed via a standard browser or via standard databases. "We believe activelogix continues to be in a unique position, said Greg Barnes, Vice President of Business Development at activelogix. "activelogix has the experience to provide and support wireless technology and the associated components needed to deliver M2M solutions. We also have the distribution channel that can implement these solutions cost effectively in a growing segment of the US".
